Greene County High School junior Noelle Gray was recently announced as this year’s winner of the Growmark essay contest for FFA members.

Advisor Cortney Schmidt says the theme for this year’s contest was “Promoting Sustainability and Conservation of Natural Resources”.  Schmidt talks about Gray’s accomplishment and how everyone else contributes to the FFA program.

“Noelle is an exceptional student.  She’s just a great, out-going person, a young leader in agriculture and that’s what FFA is about, it’s about producing leaders in agriculture and she is a prime example, we have a chapter full of them and I’m excited to see what else everyone can do.”

Being designated as the state winner, Gray will receive a $500 award from Growmark at the state FFA Leadership Conference next month in Ames and the local FFA chapter will also receive a $300 award in her honor to help future students in the program.
