Panorama-Panthers-Picture11The Panorama Schools are just two weeks in to their fourth and final quarter of the year, but one class in particular at the high school has already begun a new, unique project.

Marketing instructor Dan Druivenga has tasked his small class of just four students with a project that requires them to utilize their selling skills.

What exactly are they selling though?  Old Panorama yearbooks.

Student Nick Cave explains what he and his fellow students are learning that is helping them with their new endeavor.

“We’re learning the four Ps–price, promotion, place and product strategy.  The product is the yearbook, the place is Panorama High School, the promotion is through the radio, twitter and other media outlets, and then the price is $20.”

The proceeds from old yearbook sales will go back to Panorama’s yearbook class, and knowing that, Cave says he and his classmates have developed a sales goal.

“Mr. Druivenga said he was down about 15 yearbooks this year, and our goal is to sell at least that.  We want to sell more of course, but that is our goal.”

Just two weeks into the project, Druivenga says a few sales have been made.  Any area residents interested in purchasing an old Panorama yearbook are asked to reach the marketing class by calling the high school office at 641-755-2317.
