Recently, a group of Iowa Central Community College nursing students completed a six-week course at Greene County Medical Center.

With the Adult Health Care course offered through ICCC in Fort Dodge, aspiring nurses focus on care for acute and chronically ill adults by using nursing interventions for positive health outcomes.  The course also includes a six-week rotation in a hospital environment.

Community Relations Director Carla Offenburger says the students also use the medical center’s Telehealth service to demonstrate skills and report their progress to their instructor in Fort Dodge.  Telehealth is a kind of video conference system to allows you to talk with another person on a screen without having to leave your destination.

Kathi Hoskins, a registered nurse with the medical center was the college students’ clinical instructor who supervised them while they were here.
