ADMADM/VanMeter’s first-year girls head soccer coach Kelsey Dolder has her varsity roster finalized.

The Tigers’ completed tryouts earlier this week, and Dolder says the past couple days have been all about full-field scrimmaging so she can get a better look at her team.

Coach Dolder calls it a “good feeling” knowing that she has her team compiled, and she explains why.

“I guess these last few days are the first time I’ve actually seen full-field scrimmaging so I’ve seen a lot of good things from players.  It is good to see them out there just because we’ve got to get prepared for our game on Monday… I think we’re going to have a good squad this year.”

Dolder admits that expectations are high for the Tigers, who are trying to get back to the state tournament for the fourth consecutive season.

“We’ve been talking a lot about every game counting no matter who we’re playing.  We need to have a better record to get a better seed at state this year–that’s the goal, we’re trying to make it back to state.  So I just want to see everyone bring it.  I’m competitive… I want to win, I’m here to win and I hope they are too.”

The ADM/Van Meter girls’ quest for another state berth begins this coming Monday with a road test against the Carroll Tigers.  That match is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
