Free tickets are available for the annual Western Iowa Advantage dinner for Tuesday, April 8th.

Western Iowa Advantage is an eight-county region consisting of Greene, Guthrie, Sac, Adair, Carroll, Audubon, Crawford and Ida which works together with county officials to promote economic assets for economic growth.

Greene County Economic Development Director Ken Paxton explains one important program that they use from Western Iowa Advantage is the revolving loan fund for businesses in the county.

“They have a significant amount of money that is available for loans to businesses within the region and most of our major employers at one time or another have used that, Scranton Manufacturing has used it, Power Lift has used it.  It’s been a very effective loan for big businesses and even for smaller ones, we’ve had some of our local retailers have used that loan.”

One of the keynote speakers will be vice-president of operations for American Athletic Incorporated/Spalding and Russell Athletic Mark Lane.  The other two speakers will be Keith Kerkhoff with Templeton Rye and Allan Peterson with Danish Countryside Vines and Wines.

Tickets are normally $20 per person, but Paxton says they have a limited number of free tickets available at the Chamber.

The dinner will be at the Carrollton Centre in Carroll with a social hour to begin at 5:30pm on Tuesday, April 8th.
