So far, the early season weather hasn’t been ideal, but coaches and athletes are hoping the forecast for next week will come true and allow spring outdoor sports to take place as scheduled. The Greene County girls were weathered out of a scheduled track & field meet on April 3 in Audubon. The Greene County and ADM boys are scheduled to participate in the Winterset Husky Relays today, but there’s a chance that met will not be held because of the weather. If the meet in Winterset is held, weather conditions will likely be far from ideal

The extended weather outlook for next week includes high temperatures warming into the 50’s and 60’s with several days of sunshine. There are rain chances at times for the period April 7-11, but not sustained for days at a time like the last three days.

The Greene County golf teams are scheduled to open the season on Monday, April 7 vs. Carroll High. The girls’ meet is scheduled for Carroll and the Rams are set to host the boys’ meet. The Greene County girls are scheduled to host Gilbert and Saydel (Des Moines) in golf at The Hill west of Grand Junction on April 8. The Rams are scheduled for April 8 track and field in Panora for the Kip Janvrin Relays hosted by Panorama.
