ADMWe’ve heard about which ADM girls track events have qualified for the Drake Relays this week, and now it is time to find out which boys are likely to make the cut.

There could be a few changes to the Drake lineup if some late entries come in from meets that took place from around the state last night, but Tigers head coach Mike Whisner discusses which of his guys should be competing in Des Moines next weekend.

“I mean the things that we are really close on, as of last night anyway… Tate Jensen was 8th in the state in the 400 low (hurdles) at 55.80 seconds, and then Jesse (Bennett) was 21st in the shot put at 55’11.45”, so those are two that are kind of right on the bubble for us.  400 hurdles is the top eight (times), shot put is the top 24.”

Whisner says ADM’s medley team was the top Tiger relay that had a chance at qualifying for Drake.  The medley event takes the top 24 times, but entering last night, the ADM boys stood around 48th with a time of 3:47.42.

While the qualifying period for Drake has now ended, the Tigers are back in action tonight for the their home invitational.  The likes of Carroll, Winterset, Des Moines North, North Polk, Ogden, Eddyville-Blakesburg and Prairie City-Monroe will be in Adel to match up with ADM.
