Greene County won the large school class at the Saydel Eagles boys’ track and field invitational on Thursday in Des Moines. Complete team scores were not available Thursday night, but head coach Dean Lansman confirmed for Raccoon Valley Radio that his team finished in first place. North Polk (Alleman), Roland-Story (Story City), Ballard (Huxley), Nevada, and Saydel were the other teams in the large school division.

First place events for Greene County were:

Long jump- Mitchell Gorsuch, 18′ 2″

Shot put- Alex Rasmussen, 45′ 11″

Discus throw- Isaac Perez, 127′ 11″

100 meter dash- Roman Phillips

4 x 200 meter relay- 1:33.79 (TJ Lint- Max Neese- JC Weitl- Roman Phillips)

Shuttle hurdle relay- 1:04.14 (Dylan McConnell- Joe Doran- Tyler Beger- Daric Whipple)

The Greene County girls and boys will next be in action on Monday, April 21 when they host the Ram Relays in Jefferson at Linduska Field. Starting time is 5 p.m.
