Soccer ballThe ADM/Van Meter girls soccer team still has a couple of days off until it returns to the pitch for a conference match against Bondurant-Farrar, but when the Tigers do get back in action Thursday, it will be their first of four matches in three days.

Head coach Kelsey Dolder says she’s confident her still unbeaten squad will be able to handle the upcoming slate, especially as they continue to adhere to the always pertinent “one game at a time” philosophy.

“I think our biggest game this week will be Bondurant-Farrar especially because they’re in our conference.  We’ll be battling with them for the conference title this year I think, so we really have to win that and I keep stressing that.  So, our focus will solely be on Bondurant-Farrar and how we can beat them.”

Off to an impressive 3-0 start, Coach Dolder’s squad will hope to keep putting check marks in the win column in the days ahead, and she explains how her Tigers have retained an unblemished mark to this point.

“The last couple games our defense has been challenged, but Abby Daly has really stepped up big as a keeper and has made some nice saves.  She is just really good at communicating what she’s expecting from her defense and where they need to be.”

We’ll see if Daly’s hot goaltending can continue starting Thursday, but the Tigers will also play three games over Friday and Saturday as well in their own home tournament.

Thursday’s match against the conference foe Bluejays begins at 7pm in Adel.
