It might be hard for some to believe, but we’re now in the month of May, and with that means the beginning of the Farmer’s Market season.

Guthrie Center’s Farmer’s Market begins tomorrow, and market coordinator JoAnne Zieser says she’s eager for the season to get started.

Around ten vendors will set up their booths at the corner of Highway 44 and Highway 25 tomorrow morning starting at 8:30.  The market will run until 11am.  Zieser says such food as lettuce, radishes, baked goods, jams and farm fresh eggs, along with items like crafts and jewelry will be available.

Zieser says area residents can expect to see more and more produce available as we get deeper into the season.

Given the poor weather we’ve had this entire week, Zieser says the market will still be held under a light rain.  However, it will be called off if lightning or severe storms enter the forecast.

Anyone with questions in advance of tomorrow’s season opening Farmer’s Market can call Zieser at 515-822-4744.
