Several local causes will be able to move forward with projects after receiving grant funding from the Myrna Reynoldson Mayfield Trust.

The non-profit organization makes annual contributions to the City of Woodward and adjacent areas that support educational, civic, cultural, historical, recreational, charitable and religious purposes.

A total of $24,946 was awarded this year.  Recipients include $8,500 in scholarships for Woodward-Granger High School students, $5,000 to the high school baseball team for field renovations, $8,700 to the Woodward United Methodist Church for Christian education and youth groups and  $2,000 to the HAWK stadium project to finish the Americans with Disabilities Act approved toilet stalls.

Other recipients include the Woodward Friends and Neighbors Day committee, the volunteer fire department, the public library, youth softball league, golf and recreation and the granger middle school.

The organization awards the grants each spring based on applications received by their April 1st deadline.
