Under cold, windy, and sometimes drizzly conditions at Lakeside Golf Course near Grand Junction on Thursday, the Saydel (Des Moines) Eagles edged the Greene County Rams by two strokes in boys’ high school varsity golf. Saydel had 194 to 196 for Coach Dave Destival’s Rams.

Meet medalist and runner-up were both from Saydel. Trey Newman shot 44 to lead everyone while Rece Martin was next at 47.

The Rams had four scores within two strokes of each other with Conner Wilkins leading the way at 48. Will Meinecke and Wesley Tipton each shot 49, and Caleb McKim shot 50. All four are seniors.
