An update from the Perry Water Works Department…

Water Works Superintendent Hank Schmidt tells Raccoon Valley Radio the precautionary boil water notice for the southwest portion of Perry has been lifted. The boil water notice had been in effect for the area west of West 4th Street and south of Willis Avenue.

The initial boil water notice went into effect this past Tuesday morning after a water main break at 5th Street and Willis Avenue.

With water samples confirmed clean and safe, Perry area residents may now consume water and use it for cooking purposes.
