A notice to Greene County residents that the Greene County Community Center will be having some work done this week to install new heating and cooling units.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says their 7.5 ton and 10 ton units that are on the roof of the rec center building will be removed and replaced this week by Durlam Electric.

She states that the current heating and air-conditioning units will be disconnected today and tomorrow Durlam Electric will be installing the new units via a crane.

Last month, the Jefferson City Council approved a bid by Durlam Electric for $19,800 to replace both of the almost two-decade old units.

Lautner points out that the rec center will remain open but that part of the parking lot may be blocked before the project is completed.  Anyone wishing to use the rec center may do so, but Lautner stresses the need to be aware of any constructional hazards.
