Friday, May 9th

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer during a verbal altercation in progress in the 200 block of East State Street.

A deputy responded and checked an alarm activation at the 209 Main Restaurant in Paton. It was determined that a delivery truck was unloading food supplies and was unaware that he activated the silent alarm.

A deputy is investigating the theft of an electrical welder from the 1600 block of 300th Street.

A deputy was dispatched to Henderson Park for the report of Criminal Mischief to a fiberglass overhead garage and walk door at a storage shed belonging to the Greene County Conservation.

A deputy was not able to locate a reported erratic driver in Grand Junction upon his arrival.

A deputy was advised of the theft of a boat motor from a residence in the 600 block of State Street in Scranton. Soon the deputy was also advised that the motor had been located and he was not needed.

A deputy was dispatched to the Casey’s General Store in Scranton to assist management in getting payment for gas that was purchased and not paid for. The identity of the male driver is known and the deputy will make contact with him at a later time.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of truck and mobile home parts from a building site in the 1300 block of Oakland Avenue.

A deputy was dispatched to the report of graffiti being written on the school playground in Grand Junction. The deputy spoke with all parties involved and resolved the issue.

A deputy assisted Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel with a patient in the 1900 block of V Avenue.

A deputy spoke by phone with an out of county resident regarding a family civil issue that had occurred in Greene County.

Saturday, May 10th

A deputy assisted officers with the Jefferson Police Department in responding to a reported altercation at the Sparkey’s One Stop on Highway 30 in Jefferson. One male subject was subsequently arrested by the officers.

A deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of Paton Street in Paton for a noise complaint. The male subject was asked to please refrain from working on his truck at that time of the morning.

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with a two vehicle accident on Elm and Harrison Streets in Jefferson.

The Chief Deputy Sheriff assisted the Jefferson Police Department with impounding a recovered stolen vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen from Ankeny, Iowa, and recovered in the 400 block of West State Street in Jefferson.

A deputy was advised of a skid loader that had become stuck on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks at the P-14 crossing. Dispatchers from the Greene County Law Enforcement Center advised the railroad of the situation and to stop all trains near the crossing.  Dispatchers were soon advised that the loader had been removed and to inform the UP Railroad that the crossing was now safe.

The Union Pacific Railroad asked that a deputy check on a reported vehicle parked on the railroad right of way near Jordan Avenue. The owner was mushroom hunting and was asked that he remove his vehicle from railroad property.

Sunday, May 11th

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with checking the report of suspicious activity in Henderson Park south of Jefferson. Everything was found to be secure by the officer and deputy.

A deputy while on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on 120th Street at O Avenue. The driver refused all Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and the deputy subsequently arrested Adam Vaughn Bauer 29, of Paton for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, 1st Offense.

A deputy was unable to locate a reported dog running at large in the 900 block of North Main Street in Grand Junction.

A deputy assisted a male resident in the 2400 block of 337th Street that had lost electrical service due to the severe thunderstorm. The male was dependent on oxygen and needed assistance in loading his oxygen tanks into his vehicle to drive himself to the Dallas County Hospital.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
