The ADM/Van Meter girls soccer team is 1-1 so far this week, as the Tigers lost to highly-ranked Class 3-A foe Waukee on Monday before beating the rival Perry Jayettes 3-1 on Tuesday evening.
Head coach Kelsey Dolder says she’s proud of the way her girls responded Tuesday to remain unbeaten in Raccoon River Conference play.
“It was a very good win for our team. The girls did a really good job of moving the ball around. We’ve been stressing big-time just playing simple, hitting feet… had a lot of different girls score. Madi Bertman finished a header off a corner kick which was just fantastic. Then we had Sydney Bertman–she scored off a cross from Emily Hofmann. Carol Maher also scored… so it was good.”
With Tuesday’s win in the books, the Tigers are now 9-2 on the season and currently ranked 8th in class 2-A according to the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
Next up for Coach Dolder’s squad is a matchup with 15th-ranked Newton in Adel. Tune-in to tomorrow’s sports on the Raccoon Valley Radio Network for a preview of that contest, which begins at 7pm tomorrow evening.
