A deputy was dispatched to a farm building site in the 100 block of 185th Street for a reported burglary and theft of tools and generator.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one vehicle accident on V Avenue (P46) between 330th and 340th Streets that resulted in a fatality. Edwena Joyce Roberts 79, of rural Rippey died from injuries sustained when her vehicle drove off the roadway. Roberts was northbound on V Avenue when it appears that she possibly swerved to miss from hitting a wild animal, overcorrected and entered the east ditch striking a culvert. Roberts was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

Dispatchers at the Greene County Law Enforcement Center were able to contact the owners of horses that were reported to be on the roadway at J Avenue and 270th Street.

A deputy assisted the DNR with transporting a wounded Night Hawk to a location to be picked up for rehabilitation purposes.

A deputy was asked to check the welfare of several cats left in an abandoned residence in Dana.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
