The 2014 Iowa High School Coed State Track & Field Meet begins its three-day run today at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Greene County will be well represented with 12 girls’ events and seven events for boys. Class 1A and 4A schools get things going at 9 a.m. today while 2A and 3A programs begin competing at 2 p.m.

Kelly Simpson is the girls head coach and Dean Lansman is head coach of the boys.

Below is the time schedule for the Greene County Rams and the events they have scheduled today. (Events are finals unless noted.)

2 p.m.- Hannah Onken, girls’ discus throw

3:35 p.m.- Allison Higgins, girls’ 3,000 meter run

4:30 p.m.- Alex Rasmussen in boys’ discus throw

4:30 p.m.- Nadia Fisher in girls’ high jump

4:40 p.m.- Roman Phillips, boys’ 100 meter dash prelims

6:30 p.m.- Olivia Hansen in girls’ 200 meter dash

6:50 p.m.- Roman Phillips and Max Neese in boys’ 200 meter dash

7:10 p.m.- Olivia Hansen in girls’ 400 meter dash

7:55 p.m.- Shuttle hurdle relay prelims (Eme Johnson-Nadia Fisher-Sarah Sandage-Kate Sandage)

Jake Carey of Paton-Churdan is scheduled to run the 1A boys’ 400 meter dash at 1:40 p.m. today.
