A new retail store is opening their doors today in Perry, but the owner is a familiar face to many.

Sara Weyer is bringing the outlet version of her popular high-end woman’s clothing boutique to town.  Tres Teal Rack will carry clearance items and extra inventory from Weyer’s store in Ames.

The store is opening up in the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce’s “incubator space” which executive director Bob Wilson says is designed to help foster new businesses and help them get established in the community.

“We’re happy to foster this.  It’s something that a lot of people have been asking for, a clothing store in downtown, let’s bring the retail back.  I know Jan (Pattee) across the street at Ben’s Five and Dime is excited.  It’s just another way to bring life into downtown and that’s what the Chamber’s here to do and we’re happy to be a part of it” says Wilson.

Wilson says this is just another example of collaboration and how the private and public sector can come together to help each other.

“Jenny (Eklund with Perry Paint and Design) recruited, she found out what people needed and she came to us as a Chamber board.  Everybody kinda worked together to see what the easiest and the best way to make this happen was and again we want this to be a huge success.  So we have dotted our I’s and crossed a lot of our T’s and we’ve got a good agreement I think and we’re going to move forward and hopefully this is going to be used as an example for future businesses as well.”

The stop will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10am-5pm.  For more information visit TresTeal.com.
