The Perry Boys Soccer Team advances one step closer to the Boys State Soccer Tournament with a 3-0 victory over the Newton Cardinals last night at Dewey Field. Scoring for the Bluejays at the 17th minute was Pat Ferusca, then only three minutes later Ivan Garcia would find the back of the net and it would be 2-0 Bluejays at the intermission. Then only eight minutes into the second half Ferusca would find the back of the net once again to round out the scoring and the Perry defense would hold the score right their to pitch their tenth shutout of the year. With the victory Perry will play the Tigers of Grinnell on Saturday at Pella at noon for the right to play in the state soccer tournament.
