Practical Farmers of Iowa has announced its on-farm research lineup for 2014, and a few of the projects will be held on farms in the Raccoon Valley Radio coverage area.

The organization will hold 46 research projects on 91 farms across the state of Iowa this year.  The projects are part of Practical Farmers’ Cooperators Program, which has been ongoing since 1987.

In Dallas County, Craig Fleishman of Minburn, and Rick & Stacy Hartmann also of Minburn, will host two of the projects.

In Greene County, two Jefferson farmers, Jim Funcke and Scott Shriver will each host projects.

And in Guthrie County, Guthrie Center’s Gary Wilson will participate as project host.

There are four research areas that make up the 2014 project lineup: field crops, horticulture, livestock and on-farm energy.

Anyone with questions about the on-farm research dates this summer should contact Practical Farmers’ Drake Larsen by calling 515-232-5661.
