Guthrie Co. CourthouseVoters from around Iowa are heading to the primary polls Tuesday to vote for candidates at the county, state and Federal levels.

In Guthrie County, a couple of incumbent Supervisors face opposition in Tuesday’s primary.  District #2 Republican Clifford Carney is running against fellow Republican Todd Hambleton.  The winner of that race will likely face Kerry Sheeder in November’s general election.  Sheeder is the lone Democrat on the ballot in District #2.

Then in District #4, Republican incumbent Tom Rutledge is being challenged by Republican Bruce Lauritsen.

District #3 Republican Everett Grasty is running for reelection again this year, but he faces no opposition in Tuesday’s primary.  Kathy Miller is the Democratic candidate in District #3.

As for the positions of Guthrie County Treasurer, Recorder and Attorney, Republican Marci Schreck, Democrat Jacki Sloss and Democrat Mary Benton are all running unopposed for those respective seats.

In Iowa’s House District 20, Republican incumbent Clel Baudler faces no opposition in Tuesday’s primary but he will be challenged by Democrat Steve Roe in November’s election.
