voteWith no contested races for County office in Tuesday’s primary election, only a small percentage of Dallas County voters cast a ballot.

According to the Dallas County Auditor’s Office, current Republican Supervisors Kim Chapman and Brad Golightly received 3,046 and 3,142 votes respectively.  Republican County Recorder Chad Airhart received 3,135 votes and Republican Treasurer candidate Mitch Hambleton received 3,092 votes.

In the race for the Republican nomination for State House District 20, incumbent Clel Baudler received 261 votes over challenger Steve Roe’s 65 votes.

In the U.S. Senate race for the Republican nomination, Dallas County voters chose Joni Ernst with 2,545 votes compared to Sam Clovis with 689 votes, Mark Jacobs with 582, Matt Whitaker with 482  and Scott Schaben with 29 votes.

As for the Republican nomination for 3rd District Congressional race, the majority of local voters picked Brad Zaun with 1,129 votes, followed by Matt Schultz, David Young, Robert Cramer, Monte Shaw and Joe Grandanette.

Current Governor Terry Branstad was challenged by Tom Hoefling for the Republican nomination, though Branstad is winning overwhelmingly 3,665 votes compared to Hoefling’s 556 in Dallas County.

All other races were uncontested, all results are unofficial until canvassed by the Dallas County Board of Supervisors.  A full list of results can be found HERE.
