We are now less than two weeks away from this year’s Greene County Fair.

The People’s Choice Quilt Block Contest will once again be at the fair.  The contest is open to anyone who wants to exhibit their 12 ½”-by-12 ½” quilt block in any color or pattern.  Winners will be determined by public donations with each cent equalling one vote.  All proceeds will be given to the Greene County 4-H’ers.

All quilt blocks must be at the fair by Thursday, July 10th between 1-7pm.  Blocks can be picked up between 4-5pm on Sunday, July 13th.  For more information, contact Cherie Roquet at 386-2393.

Another aspect that helps make each county fair a success are sponsors.

Fair Board Secretary Doug Hawn says sponsorships help to fund the grandstand entertainment.  He adds that there are various levels of sponsorships with special mention given to those who contribute at $100.  Plus, banners will be on the grandstand for donations ranging from $250-$500.
