GC Public HealthAs we reported earlier this week, Guthrie County Public Health has plans to implement a new strategic business plan in this upcoming fiscal year ahead.

Administrator Jotham Arber says such an action has a couple of different reasons, one of them being that he’d like Public Health to more efficiently use taxpayer money.

“I’m trying to find ways to decrease the burden of the Public Health Department on taxpayers, but also it’s a plan to implement new programs.  We’re looking at implementing a couple new ones in the fall–Healthy Guthrie, which would be an effort to increase the health of the entire county, and also Healthy Harvest, which will be geared toward our farmers and making sure they’re healthy during harvest.”

Arber says these new programs are in the planning stages now but he hopes to roll them out at the end of the summer or early fall as Guthrie County youth are going back to school.

You can hear Arber talk more about the programs and other items from his Guthrie County Public Health Department during today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.  Tune-in during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on K107.
