Class 2A sixth ranked St. Edmond of Ft. Dodge built an 8-0 lead  vs. Greene County en route to winning 8-1 in non-conference softball north of Rogers Park on Thursday night. The Gaels improved to 22-4 while the unranked Rams fell to 19-6.

Mackenzie Dennhardt took the loss after pitching the first 3-2/3 innings. Winning pitcher Amanda Lansman and Megan Flattery each hit two-run homers for the Gaels, who scored all their runs, six earned, vs. Dennhardt. Hannah Promes relieved and tossed the last 2-1/3 innings and allowed one hit.

The Gaels had nine hits to six for Greene County and both teams were charged with three errors.

Kayla Mobley had the lone run batted in for the Rams and Bailey Godwin singled twice and doubled once. Godwin had three hits and was the only Ram with an extra base hit (two singles and one double). Emily Christensen, Carleigh Paup, and Marissa Promes each singled for the Rams.

Greene County plays in Jefferson tonight vs. Heart of Iowa Activities Conference rival South Hamilton (Jewell). This will be just the third home game in the last 16 contests for the Rams.
