ADMIt was yet another stellar weekend for the ADM softball team and it is official: the Tigers are on tear.

Rick Dillinger’s club went over to eastern Iowa and went 4-0 at the Solon Classic, and his girls have now won 16 of their past 17 games.

At 21-8 on the season and 7-4 in conference play, it has been a remarkable turnaround this season for ADM after winning just four games all of last year.

This past weekend, ADM knocked off Iowa City High 5-4, Keokuk 1-0, Ottumwa 2-0, and Des Moines Lincoln 2-1.  Three of those clubs are in Class 5A, while Keokuk is ranked in 4A.

Ace lefty Molly Jacobsen was brilliant in the pitcher’s circle as usual over the Tiger’s four games in Solon.  She gave up just 11 hits over the four games and struck out 43 batters.

Over 192 ⅓ innings pitched in 2014, Jacobsen now has 268 strikeouts–the most across all classes in Iowa high school softball.

Jacobsen and the rest of her Tiger teammates are scheduled to try and continue their hot streak against Winterset tonight.  Weather permitting, that ballgame will begin at 7:30.
