ADMWith the ADM softball team getting the night off last night due to the severe storms that rolled through the Adel area and waterlogged their home diamond, let’s take a look at what lies ahead for Rick Dillinger’s club.

The Tigers could be down to just three regular season games now after seeing their ballgame with Winterset postponed last night.  ADM is simply running out of makeup dates with postseason action right around the corner.

The Tigers are scheduled to travel to Underwood for a non-conference road game this evening before returning home to take on Carlisle tomorrow.  The Wildcats are in first place alone in the Raccoon River Conference.

Looking ahead to the regional playoffs, ADM has been placed in Class 3A’s Region 8.  The Tigers play West Central Valley in their regional opener next Tuesday, and if they’re able to get through that game, they’ll take on the winner of Atlantic and Red Oak.

If ADM is then able to win that game, they’ll advance to the regional final where it is likely Clarke of Osceola will await.  At #3 in Class 3A, Clarke is the highest ranked team in Region 8 but the Tigers aren’t far behind.  They’re the second highest ranked team in the region at #9 in 3A.

If ADM and Clarke can both make it to the regional final, that ballgame will be played on July 14th, and the winner will advance to the big show in Fort Dodge.
