A project that started two years ago is finally available once again to everyone in Greene County.

ISU Extension Coordinator Michael Cooley says the Midlife and Beyond Resource Directory Committee has compiled a booklet full of health and human services in the County.

Some of the categories it has includes medical and health, counseling and substance abuse, churches, children and family services, libraries and emergencies and crisis numbers.

Committee member Pam Olrich says they wanted to put together a resource book for people to use as a guide to help them locate services in the County.  It has the locations of different organizations and service groups, along with contact names and a brief description of what the organization is.

The booklet doesn’t include names of people or business hours for certain services because those change sometimes frequently.

Cooley points out that their project was made possible by a grant with the Community Partnerships for Protecting Children organization to make 1,250 copies 30-page booklet.  They are available at several county offices and there are plans to get them into each county library and city hall along with the area schools and hospitals.

Olrich comments that they will be reprinting a new copy every two years but is asking for help by community members for anything the committee missed or has incorrect to call the ISU Extension office in Jefferson and the electronic version will be updated immediately.

Call the Extension office for more information or to obtain a copy of the Greene County Community Resource Directory at 386-2138.
