Noelle GrayWe are now less than two days away from finding out who will be crowned this year’s Greene County Fair queen.

Noelle Gray is going to be a senior at Greene County High School and she is another candidate for this year’s county fair queen.

Like the other two contestants, Hannah Gunn and Emma Tilley, Gray has been involved in 4-H since fourth grade and will continue to be involved at the county fair by showing her horse and dog this year.

She competed last year at the Iowa State Fair in graduate novice for dog obedience and won her division and is hoping to duplicate that mark this year.

She talks about why she wants to be a candidate for the Greene County Fair queen.

“Well I’ve always loved promoting Greene County in a positive light and I think being able to go to a state competition and promoting Greene County is a really good way to get our name out there.  And I would also like to talk to the other competitors about what they do in their communities and then bringing them back and using them here.”

She is with the Hardin Happy Hustlers and her parents are Brett and Melissa Schilling.

Gray participated in varsity track and cross-country, is an officer with FFA, 4-H, National Honor Society, junior class vice-president and is on student council.

The public is invited to the queen coronation ceremony on Friday at 6:30pm at Clover Hall on the fairgrounds in Jefferson.
