Recently, the Iowa State Education Association gave its endorsement for Democrat candidate for Iowa House District 47 Hans Erickson.

A Boone native, Erickson’s parents, Ted and Beth Erickson, both worked in the Boone Community School District for several years.  Erickson says he wants to set allowable growth 18 months in advance so school districts know what their budgets will look like so they can give every child the chance to succeed.

He points out that he will work closely with educational leaders if elected to the Iowa legislature.

Erickson comments that having a strong educational basis helps to bring economic growth.  He talks about how he will represent those in Boone and Greene counties in the Iowa House if elected.

“The people of Boone and Greene counties need to be represented very, very well.  There’s tremendous opportunities that we can find, as long as we have strong leadership at the state level, we can make our local economies flourish.”

Hans is running against Republican incumbent Chip Baltimore in the November election.
