The Perry Public Library’s summer reading program wraps up in a couple weeks, but children’s librarian Suzanne Kestel says it has been a fun and educational couple months.
Earlier this week Hy-Vee came in for a program that involved free samples for the kids, today the Science Center of Iowa is coming to show the youngsters how things work and tomorrow the babies will get to play with bubbles in a big swimming pool.
With this year’s Fizz, Boom, Read theme focusing around science, Kestel says she was a bit skeptical at first but has really grown to like it. She says it has been really interactive which the kids love and makes it more fun for library staff to teach.
The kids’ finale party will take place Tuesday, July 29th, with a carnival at the library.
