Adair_Iowa_watertowerAs we told you yesterday, the City of Adair’s big town celebration begins tomorrow and will run until late Saturday night.

The 2014 Jesse James Chuck Wagon Days will mark the 59th year the event has been celebrated by Adair and surrounding community residents, but this year’s city-wide festival carries with it more than just a number.

There is an added significance this time around, given that many area families are still recovering from the severe storm that battered the town last month.  Adair Chamber President Stef Fagan explains…

“I think that our theme kind of ties into that, that we are a community of excellence and despite the fact we’ve had a few hardships along the way including the horrible storm that kind of derailed our town a few weeks ago, we will absolutely pull together and get through it just like everything else.  Because of that, I think our sense of community and togetherness will grow through this celebration.”

Fagan invites all area residents to this weekend’s Chuck Wagon Days and she hopes to see many local faces out and about in Adair tomorrow and on Saturday.

Tune-in to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program to hear Fagan run through the full schedule of events for Adair’s big festival that starts at 8am tomorrow.  That program airs during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on K107.
