monarchFall will be here before we know it and with that comes the migration of several different species.

The Dallas County Conservation Board is once again hosting their popular Monarch Tagging program this year.  Museum Curator Pete Malmberg says the on-call program is expected to take place in September and instead of trying to pinpoint or predict when the butterflies will make their way through Dallas County, they will give people a call letting them know when the migration has started so everyone can meet either at the Kuehn or Voas Conservation Areas.

Participants will take to the prairies with a net in hand as they capture monarchs, record their field data, tag them and release them back into the wild.

Registration is required for the free program so participants can be notified.
