Thunderstorms that rolled through the area Wednesday morning created some issues in the City of Adel.

Many residents had little to no water pressure early Wednesday due to a power outage that affected several different areas in Dallas County.   The water tower on Prairie Street is currently empty as the City is in the middle of a repainting project.  Adel was relying on wells to pump water to the treatment plant but that wasn’t possible when the power was out for several hours.  As a result, the City has issued a two day boil advisory.  Residents are encouraged to boil water before drinking it or using it for cooking.

All classes in the ADM school district were also delayed Wednesday because there was no power or water.  All attendance centers started their school day two hours later than normally scheduled.
