Head Coach Mike Wisner says this game will give him and his coaching staff a chance to see how their players work together as a team against an opponent. His plan for tonight is to run a variety of different plays from a script which will be the same script for each group.
Wisner points out that they will do this to evaluate each player on the same set of plays.
He states that they are traditionally a passing team, passing on average of 35 times a game, but will need to find another quarterback with Kolby Wishner graduating last year.
However, coach Wishner says he has seven returners at the skill positions coming back on offense. Wide-receiver Joe Sloss caught 14 passes for 298 yards and scored one touchdown last season while Jacob Sloss caught 11 passes for 166 yards and Jonathan Reel rounds of the returning receivers with 26 receptions for 254 yards. Other offensive returners include offensive lineman and linebacker Zach Ostendorf, offensive lineman Colin Gavin, tight end Jacob Hardy and long snapper Elijah McCartney.
Wishner comments that the returners know how to run the uptempo offense and will help lead the other players at the beginning of the season.
The game will be at the Bluejays new football field starting at 7pm.
