The Greene County football team travels to Webster City on Friday night in a Class 3A District 2 game. Both teams are 1-3 on the season and both have victories over Algona. In the district the the Rams are 1-0 while the Lynx are 1-1.

Greene County is still looking to get its offense untracked while the Lynx have apparently found theirs, and its on the ground. Running the “single wing” offense, which was popular decades ago, Webster City is coming around after a slow start. Part of the reason the Lynx started slowly on offense may have been the teams they went against. They lost 38-6 to Class 3A top 10 ranked Gilbert, then dropped a 39-7 decision to Clear Lake, ranked number one in 2A. Week three saw WC lose to 3A top 10 Carroll 49-35, but junior back Gavin Dinsdale racked up 369 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 38 carries. Dinsdale had 70 yards and four more TDs last Friday on 23 carries as the Lynx romped to their first win of the season, 63-7 in Algona. Dinsdale has 554 yards and nine TDs, so slowly him and the Lynx running game will be important if the Rams are to win on the road for the first time this season.

Coverage of the Rams and Lynx on KG98 begins at 6:45 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. The game will also be streamed on raccoonvalleyradio.com.
