The ADM football Tigers will look to start their first winning streak of the season tonight when they return home for a district showdown with the Winterset Huskies.

Both teams come in at 2-2 and 1-1 in 3A-District 8 play, and both are coming off wins. ADM dispatched Atlantic 17-7 on the road last week, while Winterset squeaked out a 12-8 home win over Glenwood.
After facing a spread offense in each of the first four weeks of the season, ADM’s tough defense will be challenged by a different look from the Huskies. Winterset runs half wishbone and I-formation sets, and shotgun the rest of the time.

Tigers head coach Mike Whisner told Raccoon Valley Radio he thinks his defense is up for the challenge because his two-deep players have proven they can play effectively in varsity games after getting extensive confidence and experience at the JV level. Last week against Atlantic, many of those two-deep players made significant contributions at the Varsity level as well.

Huskies head coach Zach Sweeney, meanwhile, said he is most concerned with ADM’s ability to spread the ball around through the air, pointing out that ADM has five players who have caught at least nine passes. He also praised tigers Quarterback Frank Weiland, saying the junior could “make every throw.”

Our coverage begins at 6:45 p.m., with kickoff at 7:30 on KKRF 107.9 FM and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
