First-year ADM girls basketball head coach Corey Schneider recently told Raccoon Valley Radio he liked what he saw from his team over the summer, and thinks the Tigers can do some damage this season because of their athleticism.

That said, Schneider also acknowledged how challenging it will be to teach his system to a completely new team. And that makes it even tougher for Schneider, who most recently was the head girls varsity coach at Woodward-Granger, to measure success in his first year at the helm of ADM.

Schneider said his goal while at Woodward-Granger was always to make the state tournament. He came up short in that department, though Woodward-Granger twice made it to the Regional final under his direction– which, this season, may be an unreasonable expectation for ADM. He pointed out that in his six years at Woodward-Granger, ADM didn’t crack the .500 mark and was often well below it. With last year’s 10-12 record as a sign of improvement, however, he is shooting for the Tigers’ first winning season in quite some time.

“I would like to make the next jump, at least get to 14, 15 wins,” Schneider said.

The Tigers will start regular practices the second week of November, and the season tips off on Thursday, Nov. 20.
