Thursday night, the Greene County High School held its community pep rally and football jersey auction at the middle school in Jefferson.

The evening started with the varsity football auction which raised $3,555.  Dylan Hamilton’s jersey brought in the most with $450.  Other items at the auction were autographed football and volleyball by their respective teams, a signed t-shirt from the band and a signed photo of the cross country team that raised another $685.  The total for the auction was $4,230 with all the proceeds to go back to the school’s athletic booster club.

Then the cheerleaders led the crowd in some call-and-response cheers while the captains of the cross country, volleyball and football teams each made short remarks.

The king and queen coronation ceremony followed where last year’s homecoming king Karter Ruzicka and queen Shelby Cooklin crowned this year’s king and queen which were Karlan Langfitt and Hannah Gunn.

Langfitt and Gunn will be featured in this afternoon’s homecoming parade around Russell Park and the court will also be announced again at the football game against the Humboldt Wildcats at 7:30pm tonight.
