The Perry football team will take their 2-3 record on the road tonight when they travel to Algona for a 7:30 matchup with the 0-5 Bulldogs.  Perry will look to bounce back from a home loss to Carroll last Friday night while Algona was blitzed by Humboldt.   Even though it is not a must win situation for either team as far as playoffs go, both coaches realize the importance of not falling behind the eight ball in securing one of the four playoff spots in the district.

‘We have addressed it with the team mainly from the perspective of Greene County on the schedule next week,” added Perry Coach Jason Olejniczak.  “If we lose tonight, that game with Greene County doesn’t nearly mean as much.  We must first take are of business tonight and try to get ahead of the curve as far as the playoffs go.  Carroll and Humboldt have looked really good and the rest of the pack will be fighting for the playoff spots.  We’re looking forward to the challenge.  Greene County is playing really well and Webster City runs a tough offense to stop.  We can’t overlook anybody on the schedule.”

Perry has victories over North Polk and Boone while losing to ADM, Gilbert and Carroll.  The Jays are 1-1 in the district.  You can listen to tonight’s game at 7:00 with the Jason Olejniczak show and kickoff at 7:30.
