The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released volleyball pairings late last week for regional tournaments in all classes. The two programs in Greene County both open the postseason on the road. Greene County travels to third rated Nevada to meet the Cubs in Class 3A Region 4 while Paton-Churdan plays Coon Rapids-Bayard in Coon Rapids in 1A Region 4.

The Rams were swept in three games in Jefferson by Nevada last month in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference action. The postseason meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 27 in Nevada at 7 p.m. The Greene County/Nevada winner advances to the semifinals in Nevada on Oct. 30 vs. the Gilbert/Southeast Valley (Gowrie) winner. Other teams in Region 4 include number 12 Roland-Story (Story City), South Hardin (Eldora), Aplington-Parkersburg, and Columbus Catholic (Waterloo).

P-C lost in three sets to CR-B on Oct. 2 in Churdan. The two teams square off again in Coon Rapids on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. with the winner playing in Coon Rapids on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. vs. the Glidden-Ralston/Guthrie Center winner. Other teams in Region 4 include Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, Adair-Casey, CAM (Anita), Northeast Hamilton (Blairsburg), Ankeny Christian Academy, Iowa Christian Academy (West Des Moines), Colo-Nesco, Valley Lutheran (Cedar Falls), AGWSR (Ackley), and third rated Janesville.
