After winning both of its matches last week, the No. 10 ADM volleyball Tigers have the entire week off from competition. Tigers head coach Mary Beth Scott characterized the extended break as a good opportunity for her team to work on fine-tuning different aspects of the game.

“We’re not in a hurry. We can actually really take our time and really break down some skills,” Scott said. “That’s kind of what we were doing the other day, is we were just breaking down passing and defense and just going back and doing the basics again … that’s what we’re going to do this week.”

Scott added it would be good for her players to get away from the grind of constant practice and games, and said she would likely give her players a day off this week to engage in some off-the-court bonding activities.

Scott said she’d also like to schedule some sort of home invitational during this time next year to avoid such a long break in between matches this late in the season.

At 19-8 overall and 4-0 against conference foes, ADM is in third place in the Raccoon River Conference, a half-game behind Bondurant-Farrar and Carroll, who are both 4-0 in conference play. ADM returns to the hardwood next Tuesday, when they host the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jays at 7 p.m.
