The Greene County Rams travel to Boone later today to meet both Heart of Iowa Activities Conference rival Gilbert, and the Class 4A ninth ranked Boone Toreadors in high school volleyball. Action starts at 5 p. m. with the Rams meeting Boone in non-conference action, followed by Greene County and Gilbert. Boone meets Gilbert in the final game of the night. Boone is 20-5 overall and 3-1 in the Raccoon River Activities Conference while Gilbert is 13-12 on the season and 2-3 in Heart of Iowa Conference play. The varsity teams play at Boone high school, while the ninth and JV teams from all three schools will play at Boone’s middle school.

Coach Donna Carhill’s Rams are 9-7 overall and 4-2 in the conference. The Rams have played on the road since losing to Roland-Story (Story City) in Jefferson on Sept. 16, and will remain away from home until hosting Perry in non-conference action on Monday, Oct. 20 to complete the regular season. After tonight, the Rams play a conference game in Alleman on Thursday against Class 3A number 14 North Polk, and they round out the week by playing in the Pella Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 11.
