A traffic stop in Guthrie Center led to two arrests on drug and weapon charges. Just after midnight on Friday, October 3rd, officers in Guthrie Center pulled over a vehicle occupied by 29 year old Jessica Jane Marie Martin of Greenfield, and 36 year old Louis Mack Brittain of Ankeny. During the traffic stop, officers found illegal items both on Martin as well as in the vehicle. Martin was subsequently charged with three misdemeanors; Possession of Meth, Possession of Morphine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, as well as two felonies; Drug Tax Stamp Violation, and Possessing Contraband in a Correctional Facility or Jail. Brittain was found to be in possession of a dangerous weapon, a taser, and also had an arrest warrant out in Polk County. Both Martin and Brittain were transported to the Guthrie County jail, where Martin posted bond, and Brittain was transferred into the custody of Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies.
