The Perry football team will hope to sing a playoff tune along with the school song tonight at Webster City.

The math is easy.  A Perry victory tonight over Webster City gives them one of four playoff spots in 3A District 2.  However, a loss opens up the possibility of missing the playoffs all together.  The Bluejays are in a position that all teams hope to be in when summer camps started back in August…and that is to control their own destiny.  Perry will take their 3-4 record to Webster City in hopes of locking up a playoff berth for the up and coming program.

“I think a playoff berth would be really important to our program,” added Head Coach Jason Olejniczak.  “Due to some unpredictable circumstances that we won’t go into, our expectations could have been higher this year.  But the way things shook out and with the travel and the new District, our guys gave a great effort and this would be a huge accomplishment.  Our senior class has meant so much to this program so to send them out with a playoff spot would be pretty special.”

Perry will look to jump out early on a run heavy, wing style offense.  “They like to play physical football and run right at you with a power back and two lineman.  It’s an offense similar to the triple option so our defense must read their keys and show tremendous discipline.”

Perry and Webster City will kick off at 7:30 tonight on KDLS and www.racccoonvalleyradio.com.
