Grace Marburger enjoyed one of her better games last night powering Perry past Carlisle.

The Perry Jayette volleyball team blew by Carlisle Tuesday night in their Annual Dig For a Cure Night.  The Jayettes won 3-0 with the second game going 26-24.  Perry’s offensive front wall of Ellie Nielsen, Claire Marburger, Grace Marburger and Amy Marckres proved to be too much for Carlisle to contain.  Marckres led the way with 15 kills, Claire added 11 while sophomore Grace enjoyed one of her better games finishing with 10 kills, including two keys slams late in game 2.  The Perry offense was set up all night by Maggie Lowe’s passing as she finished with 31 assists.  The Jayettes are now 13-13 on the season and improve to 2-4 in RRC play.   Perry will travel to Knoxville this Saturday for a full day of volleyballl action at the Panther Tournament.

Prior to the game, Perry took time to honor family and friends that we have lost to cancer and also saluted those who have defeated cancer or are still in the battle.  The Jayette volleyball players took a rose to all the spectators in the stands who were fighting or had fought cancer.  Each player and coach also played or coached for one family member or friend who has been impacted by the disease.  Funds were raised for the National Cancer Society through a dinner, jeans day and bake sale along with t-shirt orders.  Pink was the common, unifying color in the Pavillion last night.
