Today is regional cross-country meet day, which means runners all over the state will be trying to qualify for the Nov. 1 State Meet north of Ft. Dodge. For Class 1A and 2A teams and individuals in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, the Par Three Golf Course at Lake Panorama west of Panora is the site of four regional races. Action begins at 3:30 p.m. with 2A girls leading off, followed by 2A boys, 1A girls, and 1A boys. The top three teams and top 10 individuals in each race will qualify for State competition.

Area schools in 2A at Panorama are Greene County and West Central Valley. The Rams are ranked ninth and the Wildcats are number 14. North Polk (Alleman) has the highest rated 2A girls’ team in the field at number five and the Comets have edged the Rams in the last two regular season meets.

Class 1A programs at Panorama are the host Panthers, Adair-Casey, Guthrie Center, and Paton-Churdan.
