The Perry Jayette volleyball team lost to Boone in three straight games Thursday night at the Perry Sports Pavillion.  The Jayettes were outscored 14-2 after leading 13-11 at one point in game one.  The Torreadors used long runs in both games two and three to seal the deal.  The Jayettes  honored five seniors including Claire Marburger, Amy Marckres, Maggie Lowe, Kate Whelchel and Mary Wilhelmi.  Head Coach Kristel Kautzky says these seniors were a big reason for this year’s success.

“This has been a great group of leaders to build the program around.  They have done everything I have asked and set the example for the younger kids.  The reason we played winning volleyball this year has a lot to do with these five girls.”

The Jayettes finished the season 17-16 and 2-5 in RRC action.

“We need to work on being more consistent,” added Kautzky.  “Especially with our serve reception.  It seems we go through long streaks where our serve reception disrupts the type of offense we want to run.  We will continue to focus on that this weekend.”

Perry will host Ballard in a 4A Regional Monday night at the Perry Pavillion.  Shawn Kenney will have the play by play on AM 1310 KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com
