Greene County and Carroll play each other in varsity football for the first time in five years when they meet at Linduska Field in Jefferson tonight. The Tigers (7-1, 5-0) are ranked eighth in Class 3A and lead District 2 by a game over Humboldt (7-1, 4-1) and Greene County (4-4, 4-1). An outright title is Carroll’s with a win tonight, but an upset victory by the Rams could create a two-way or even three-way tie for the title, depending on the outcome of Perry at Humboldt.

Ram head coach Dean Lansman said he’s proud the way is team battled back after losing three of the first four games of the season. “The kids have done a great job of putting themselves in position to win a district title.”

The Tigers are averaging 38 points and give up just 12 per game while the Rams average 21 a game on offense and allow an average of 18.

Coverage on KG98 begins at 6:45 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
